'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter'just got its head vampire:Rufus Sewellwill play Adam, the leader of the bloodsuckers in Fox's adaptation of the best-selling book. Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie and Dominic Cooper also star in Timur Bekmambetov's 3D movie. In the film, based on Seth Graham-Smith's novel, the nation's 16th president spends much of the Civil War battling vampires rather than the Confederacy. Bekmambetov should be a nice fit for 'Vampire Hunter,' having directed 'Night Watch' and 'Day Watch,' two outrageous fantasy-thrillers. {TheWrap}

Copperheart Entertainment and Entertainment One are producing an adaptation of Anne McCaffrey's'Dragonflight,'the first in the 'Dragonriders of Pern' book series, with 'Watchmen' and 'X-Men' writerDavid Hayterset to pen the script. The story revolves around an elite group of warriors who take to the skies on the backs of giant, fire-breathing, telepathic dragons to save the exotic planet of Pern from a terrifying airborne menace. {Deadline}
Michael Mannis teaming up withPaul Haggisto pan for'Gold,'a spec script that is a contemporary thriller in the vein of 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre,' about a ruthless search for the precious metal. Haggis was attracted to the script in the hopes of directing it, but other projects got in the way and he passed it on to Mann, who acquired it for his production company. Mann will most likely direct, and will also produce with Haggis and Michael Nozik. {TheWrap}
If all goes well,Michael Clarke Duncanwill voice the character of Kilowog in Warner Bros.'s Green Lantern movie. The Ryan Reynolds film is in post-production and the studio is adding voices to its CGI characters; Geoffrey Rush signed on to voice the character of Tomar-Re two weeks ago. James McAvoywill join'Welcome to the Punch,'a London-set action thriller that will be directed by Eran Creevy, who made his directorial debut with 2008's 'Shifty.'
